Tom's Reviews I love the Dexter reference talked about in the description of the album art, and then we have riffs that are interesting while not being ridiculously flashy, vocal performances that at varied in style and approach, and some very slick lead guitar solos!! Favorite track: Trapped Inside The Lie.

Marcia Johnson I love the many facets of the musicianship. Just when you think it's going to be a slow one, they pick it up and it just rocks the house! Favorite track: The Ultimate Judas.

Witches Brew 05:25
It's a sign of the times, an overabundance of crime And no one's promised tomorrow, society begs & Borrows A hand shake followed by a slice to the throat Left feeling hollow with a suicide note. (Verse 1) A little dose of pain with a splash of decay Traces of disdain, a soul in disarray Boiled to the brim it's a taste of what's to come The world becomes so grim as we beat the final drum (Chorus) Everyone hates everyone Violence breeding violence Slowly stirring the cauldron A recipe commenced Taste the slime and spread the wealth It all brings in the revenue Poisonous to the health Creating a Witches Brew! (Verse 2) A mix of suffering with some drops of bloody tears It's sure to bring a smothering that'll last for years & years A heat that rises high enough to burn her ugly face The earth slowly dies bringing the end to the race *repeat chorus* *Repeat chorus once more at the end* credits

Flock to the scene of damnation They crave what happens next All for the sensation to see who's life is wrecked Laughing at one's demise Apathetic to empathy When being cut down to size They default to superiority (Trapped Inside!) Trapped Inside The Lie (Consumed Mind!) Trapped Inside The Lie (Killing Thoughts!) Trapped Inside The Lie (Esteem Rots!) Trapped Inside The Lie The relay race of milestones with intent to be pretentious Is grotesquely overgrown and utterly infectious Displayed for all to see Jealousy through comparison A scratch upon the surface It fabricates irrelevance (Trapped Inside!) Trapped Inside The Lie (Consumed Mind!) Trapped Inside The Lie (Killing Thoughts!) Trapped Inside The Lie (Esteem Rots!) Trapped Inside The Lie Consume the fear of failure They can't see what unfolds When misery holds allure Inside our mind and soul Who truly gives a damn When life is all but swell? We hang our heads in shame, Embrace this Private Hell! *talking voice* There's nothing in this life that's worth compromising, Your mind over matter, because it's all a f*cking lie (Trapped Inside!) A spawn was formed internally And born unto this world No one saw the catastrophes As the stories began to unfold Fire was caught inside Of their souls with darkened shrines They grew sad wings of destiny And the sun began to shine Upon this mountain of pain and sorrow We lay thee down to rest Make haste into tomorrow The sun is still burning The stars are glistening A sight to see between heaven & hell We’re still listening Oh, it’s a psalm for the dying We bid you farewell Yeah, the children are crying Even though we know, the spirit carries on A gathering of thousands To raise this hell on earth By the hands of sonic gods We witness the rebirth Of our sanity redeemed Their art was made of steel But could flow like a stream Through our consciousness we feel The power of its sound It echos through our heads Our minds they see no bounds It kills our daily dread But tomorrow it may be Only in our memory For a lack of certainty Oh, it’s a psalm for the dying We bid you farewell Yeah, the children are crying Even though we know the spirit carries on Oh, we’re bleeding for mercy Please don’t take them away Yeah, they’re gone far too soon And now it’s our responsibility

Tell me a story of honesty Each page revealing the lies Bowing down to the majesty Glaring deep into his eyes Watching and listening, feeling the pain The knife brings you to your end Calamities and fatal wounds remain For my one and only friend Can't deny how it feels inside This was how it was meant to be Next to you I'm a worthless fool But now I'm the one who rules The Ultimate Judas, never wise to choose us Being led astray and then soon you will pay Their hands unfold, there is silver and gold Considered dead and gone with a grave to piss upon Falling below to gain sympathy advantages are taken avail selfish and vile with no dignity, a classic display of betrayal Once we were brothers, now you are smothered Draining the life from your eyes The pain leaves your body but enters in mine This soul of emptiness it now resides As you fly away I am reminded A crime that cannot be undone An act that was meant to silence Is a virus that never claims its absence Standing next to you except now consumed by the soil It manifests the core of my inner turmoil The magnitude of my actions bears down its weight on me My will to live now dries, like ashes cast out to sea

about

The new album entitled "The Ultimate Judas" is OUT NOW! We're incredibly stoked to be finally releasing this album after a long period of reformation and rebirth. The band truly feels this is the first true release under the Charonyx name. When the quest was put forth back in the summer of 2016, the goal for this band was to essentially reinvent itself, and put together material that would cement the band and establish the sound that we've been looking for since the beginning, and I think it's safe to say that we've officially accomplished this task. We feel that it's the best work that any of us have been a part of to date, and we're incredibly excited to show you all what we've been working on for many months, and going through many trials and tribulations during the making of this record.

It consists of two previously released singles "Witches Brew" and "A Psalm For The Dying", and now will include the remainder of the tracks on this album such as "Trapped Inside The Lie", "Upon The Hours (Instrumental)", and the title track "The Ultimate Judas".

We realize that the album art might be slightly controversial for some, but for those who are unfamiliar, it actually is based on scripture from the Bible that has been the topic of many religious sermons among the course of human history. That being said, the story of the album art, and the song itself "The Ultimate Judas" intermingles two versions of the story, and combines it into one sick and twisted story. It takes inspiration from a story about a man named Judas, who was one of Jesus's closely cherished disciples, where he betrayed Jesus and traded him for 30 pieces of silver, but then later developed guilt and shame over his betrayal and resulted in a rather abominable end for Judas. The other version of the story is based on one that was portrayed in the popular late 2000's TV series 'Dexter' where a man found God, became a preacher and then developed a following based on his teachings. One man that was close to him betrayed him by actually murdering him instead of obviously trading the man for 30 pieces of silver like how Judas did in the bible. Why is Dexter relevant? Because at one point in the show while Dexter is investigating, he finds out who committed the crime, and is quoted saying, "It's like he's the Ultimate Judas". So therefore, the story of the song is put in the perspective of two close friends who grew up together and were practically brothers. One friend betrays the other for their own gain by murdering him out of frustration, jealousy, and pure rage over his best friend achieving the things he wish he could have. Once the act was committed, the killing friend starts to develop fear, guilt, depression, anxiety, and question's why he committed the act of murdering his one and only brother and best friend. He then begins to realize that what was done was catastrophic and purely because of his own mental disease. The feeling of guilt and grief over the loss of his brother and best friend begins to eat away at his conscience, and eventually he could not shake the magnitude of his guilt and shame. As a result, he follows through with taking his own life because he can no longer bear the pain within his wretched world that he created for himself.

On a brighter note, we hope you enjoy this album and find it as compelling as we do!

Cheers!
